{"id":69,"date":"2010-02-06T21:04:27","date_gmt":"2010-02-07T04:04:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paulbergren.com\/wp\/?p=69"},"modified":"2010-02-06T21:10:48","modified_gmt":"2010-02-07T04:10:48","slug":"fund-raiser-march-13th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.paulbergren.com\/wp\/?p=69","title":{"rendered":"SAVE THE DATE FUND RAISER    MARCH 13TH"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>VISIT BACK SOON FOR OFFICIAL INVITATION INFORMATION AND COST TO ATTEND.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>FOR LOVE, LOYALTY, AND FRIENDSHIP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The friends and family of Paul Bergren are proud to invite you to participate in a fun-filled fund raiser to benefit the Paul Bergren Family Fund.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday, March 13<br \/>\n6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.<br \/>\nBerwyn Moose Lodge<br \/>\n3625 S Harlem Berwyn, IL 60402<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>A LITTLE BIT ABOUT PAUL<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Paul moved to Wisconsin with his beloved wife, Gail, 15 years ago\u00c2\u00a0fulfilling his lifelong dream\u00c2\u00a0to live the life of an outdoorsman.\u00c2\u00a0 He worked hard at his full-time job to support Gail and to pursue his love of hunting, fishing, and golf.\u00c2\u00a0 For many years Paul was also a motorcycle enthusiast, taking cross-country trips on his Harley.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>WHY A FUND RAISER<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In June of 2009, Paul was diagnosed with a recurrence of Renal Cell Carcinoma. There is no known cure for this chemo- and radiation-resistant form of kidney cancer. \u00c2\u00a0Recently, Paul\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s cancer metastasized to his femur and hip; he underwent surgery to insert a rod in his femur to strengthen it. Paul was unable to return to work after the surgery and is considered legally disabled. His medical bills will rise as time goes on and the cancer worsens.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He and Gail have had to sell their home \u00e2\u20ac\u201c and most of their possessions \u00e2\u20ac\u201c to avoid foreclosure. They recently moved back to Chicago to be close to family and friends. The only income that Paul and Gail have is what they get monthly from social security. Paul is currently covered by Cobra insurance; he is not eligible for Medicare for 24 months.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>PAY IT FORWARD<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Throughout his life, Paul has been the first to lend a hand and provide loving support to his family and friends. If you have a problem, you call Paul. Those of us who know him describe Paul as a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153what you see is what you get\u00e2\u20ac\u009d kind of guy.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 He has an upbeat personality and an outrageous sense of humor that is unmatched. <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Everyone who knows him loves him.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>VISIT BACK SOON FOR OFFICIAL INVITATION INFORMATION AND COST TO ATTEND.
